In August of 1942, the First Marine Division invaded the Japanese-held island of Guadalcanal in the first American amphibious operation of the war. ACTION FRONT! Watchtower, the first of a projected series of tactical microgames, puts you in command of three pivotal actions in this campaign that eventually decided the course of the war in the Pacific.
Watchtower includes 20 Japanese unit counters and 20 US units; everything from the Type 89 “leg mortar” and Chi-Ha medium tank to USMC Raiders and 75mm “pack” howitzer. Scenarios include “Edson’s Glory”, “Ballet on the Tenaru”, and “Matanikau Time”.
